Robi Domingo and his fiancée, Maiqui Pineda seem to be closing in on the final stretch of their wedding preparations, as the Kapamilya TV host revealed that they are “70 to 75 percent” ready for their special day.

“As of yesterday, I can disclose that we are 70 to 75 percent complete [with our wedding preparations],” he said during the ABS-CBN Ball held in Makati on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Domingo, who initially suggested to Pineda that they “slightly delay” the big day due to the latter’s health condition — Pineda was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease in July — kept mum on the date of their wedding. “I will be scolded kapag sinabi ko [kung kailan] (if I tell you when),” he quipped.

The “ASAP Natin ‘To” mainstay has previously shared that their wedding’s theme is going to be Filipino, and reiterated such, while also mentioning that the songs that will be played on their special day will also follow their “very Filipino” theme. The “Pinoy Big Brother” alum also divulged that his best man “is gonna be one of my best friends and my brother.”

Meanwhile, the couple, who recently flew to Singapore for a “medical visit,” recently disclosed that the bride-to-be’s condition is “improving,” which served as an early birthday present for Domingo, having received the good news a day before his 34th birthday.

Domingo, in the past, has commended his longtime partner’s “courage” in being open about her autoimmune disease, which she narrated in a blog post. The “Cinco” actor spoke of Pineda’s “bravery” anew, and also reiterated her sentiment on why she decided to share something very personal.

“I feel so proud of her ’cause she’s not that type of person who would disclose information. She’s a private person. Pero grabe ‘yung bravery niya (But her bravery is exceptional), and she’s doing that because she wants to reassure other people na (that), ‘I’m going through this, and if you’re going through what I’m going through, it’s okay. We’re gonna be sharing our experiences, and we will get through this together.'” he shared.

During the same trip to Singapore, the couple was greeted by several Filipinos, who “flocked” toward the former reality show contestant. The “warm welcome,” he said, is “a big appreciation to the power of ABS-CBN.” “Even walang (without a) franchise, it’s still there… Sabi ko (I said), ‘Ah, kilala pa rin ako ng mga Kapamilya natin (Filipinos in Singapore still recognize me),” shared Domingo, who then expressed his gratitude to his home network.

The couple, who celebrated their fifth year together in August, took their relationship to the next level when the former “Myx” VJ popped the question during a trip to Japan last year. EDV
