“It’s Showtime” host and actress Kim Chiu remained hopeful that the noontime show will triumph in the end, after the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) denied the motion of reconsideration filed by ABS-CBN and GMA to appeal its 12-day suspension.
Chiu briefly addressed the regulatory board’s ruling during a brand launch on Thursday, Sept. 28, when asked to give her two-cents on the current state of the Kapamilya noontime show.
“Lahat naman ng problema, nakakaya namin — lalo na ang ‘It’s Showtime.’ Thirteen years na siyang noontime show at wala namang problema ang hindi nakakayanan dahil na-test of time [kami].Lahat naman tayo, na-test tayo ng time at may natututunan tayo,” she said.
(We’ve prevailed over all of our problems, especially “It’s Showtime.” The noontime show has been around for 13 years, and no problem would remain that way, especially as we’ve been tested by time. All of us are tested by time and we’ve learned from it.)
‘WALA NAMANG PROBLEMA ANG ‘DI NAKAKAYANAN.’

The actress then thanked “It’s Showtime’s” fans for their support throughout its whole ordeal with the MTRCB.
“We’re just very grateful na ang daming sumusuporta sa ‘It’s Showtime’ at ‘yun po ang mahalaga (We’re just very grateful that many people support ‘It’s Showtime’ as that’s what’s most important),” she said.
Hours after the government agency denied the noontime show’s appeal, ABS-CBN confirmed that it’s “currently exploring all [their] remedies and options” as the MTRCB’s “imposed suspension is not yet final and executory.” EDV
