The show must go on.
Despite the dismissal of its appeal for the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to reconsider the 12-day suspension of “It’s Showtime,” ABS-CBN said the noontime show will continue to be shown on its respective platforms.
In a statement, ABS-CBN said it has received the decision of the MTRCB just hours after its 30-man body did not find merit in its motion for reconsideration.
“We received the decision of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board denying our Motion for Consideration regarding ‘It’s Showtime’ and are currently exploring all our remedies and options,” it read.
“In the meantime, since the imposed suspension is not yet final and executory, we would like to reassure our audiences that ‘It’s Showtime’ will continue to be seen on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and GTV. It is also available on Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC,” ABS-CBN added.
The media giant also thanked its supporters for their “unwavering love and support” despite the regulatory body’s order.
“We remain committed to bringing joy and inspiration to our beloved madlang people,” ABS-CBN said.
Following the denial of the networks’ appeal, the MTRCB remained firm on its decision, as it told reporters during a press conference that mainstay hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez acted “indecently and inappropriately in the presence of children.” EDV
