Even without a fancy celebration, Robi Domingo seemed overjoyed on his birthday after he was informed by doctors that the health of his fiancée Maiqui Pineda, who was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, is improving.
“This is how I’m celebrating my birthday: in the airport going home with Maiqs after her recent medical visit in [Singapore],” the TV host said, showing photos of them taken at the airport on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
“Yes sure, it’s different from the other birthdays I’ve celebrated but this trip has given me a new way of appreciating life. Got my birthday wish as the doctor told us she’s improving a lot!” he added. “Hopefully, tuloy tuloy na. Thank you for all the prayers.”
Pineda, for her part, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for Domingo for accompanying her on her medical visit on his birthday week.
“I know how much your birthday means to you and how this is such a big work week too but you let go of all that to be with me in Singapore. Can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done and continue to do for me,” she wrote. “I’m so grateful to have found a partner in life with you.”
“Glad we got to celebrate in your favorite restaurant and coincidentally in Singapore again just like last year. And we’re also celebrating the good news that my health is improving!” she added.
Fans and fellow celebrities then flocked to the comments section to send their birthday greetings to Domingo and well-wishes for Pineda.
Domingo and Pineda got engaged in 2022 after being in a relationship for four years.
Pineda then disclosed in August her Dermatomyositis diagnosis to the public, lamenting how this year was supposed to be an “exciting year of wedding planning, preparing for a new home and working on [her] career.”
Despite this, Domingo said that their wedding will push through as scheduled as it gives Pineda “something to hope for.” /ra
