Erik Santos is not closing his doors on marriage and starting a family anytime soon, although he hopes to say “I do” to someone who is easy on the eyes and understanding when it comes to his job as a singer.
Santos opened up about the topic of marriage during an interview with reporters on the sidelines of his “milEStone” mediacon, per Inquirer Bandera, saying he’s “praying” that he would meet his “the one.”
“Siyempre po naman, hindi rin magandang mag-isa sa buhay. So hopefully, I’m really praying, in the near, near, near future na magkaroon na rin po ako ng sarili kong pamilya (Of course. It’s not nice to be alone in life. So hopefully, I’m really praying in the near, near future that I would have my own family),” he said.
The singer then listed down the characteristics of his ideal wife, where he pointed out that he wants to marry someone pretty.
“Siyempre, maganda. Kasi gusto mo namang gumising nang every morning na maganda ‘yung nakikita mo, ‘diba?” he said. “To be honest, siyempre, ‘yung mauunawaan ang trabaho ko at makakasundo ko at makakasundo ng personalidad ko. Makakapag-adjust ako at the same time, makakapag-adjust siya sa akin.”
(Of course, she needs to be pretty. We want to wake up next to someone who’s pretty, right? To be honest, of course, someone who understands my work, and will get along with me. Someone who’s willing to adjust to my work, and at the same time, adjust to me.)
“Kailangang maganda at maganda ang kalooban. ‘Yun naman kasi talaga ang pinakaimportante sa lahat (She needs to be beautiful from the inside and out. That is the most important of all),” Santos further said.
Santos, who recently marked his 20th showbiz anniversary earlier this month, made headlines after his father Renato died last August, which happened to be less than a year after his mother Angelita died in November 2022.
Following his father’s death, he thanked his loved ones and ABS-CBN colleagues for supporting his family during his “lowest point in life.” EDV
