As Pia Wurtzbach marked turning a year older, the now 34-year-old former Miss Universe expressed her gratitude to everyone who cheered her on “through the years” and remained supportive up to now that she’s in a “new era” of her life.
The birthday girl, who as of late, has been primarily uploading snaps from her Milan Fashion Week experience, took a break from fashion-related posts to express her appreciation, not only for the recent birthday greetings, but also for the love that has come her way since her humble beginnings.
“My celebratory burger will have to wait cos my mind’s at fashion week right now and I’m not in my usual celebratory mode just yet. But I’m seeing all your birthday posts, tags [and] greetings. [emoji],” she shared, and started to get sentimental as she continued to address her supporters.
“A BIG THANK YOU for being by my side, watching me grow through the years — some of you have literally seen and supported me since day 1 to now that I’m married. As I navigate this new era of my life, I am grateful for all of YOU for still being here. [emoji],” she said.
“Cheers to getting wiser, stronger [and] better. Cheers to continuing the dream [emoji] Now… let’s get back to business,” she further said.
However, if there’s someone that the 2015 Miss Universe is missing on her special day, it is her entrepreneur husband Jeremy Jauncey.
But Jauncey did not seem remiss in greeting Wurtzbach on her birthday. In his Instagram post, he celebrated and recognized the achievements of his better half in the past 12 months.
“Happy birthday baby, what a year you’ve had @piawurtzbach[.] A best-selling book, growing businesses, film festivals, fashion weeks and a very special wedding….,” he shared, referring to their beach wedding held in Seychelles, East Africa last March.
“I love you and I’m proud of you [emoji] I have no doubt this year will be even bigger,” he continued, as he capped of his birthday greeting, which was accompanied by a photo of the couple.
Jauncey appeared to be shooting in Dubai for a series of promotional videos.
Wurtzbach, who earlier uploaded a snap of the pair during a video call on her Instagram Stories, responded to Jauncey’s shout-out and wrote, “Thank you my love [emoji] I miss you and wish you were here! [emojis]”.
Prior to stunning in Milan, Wurtzbach recently launched her book, “Queen of the Universe,” at the Manila International Book Fair on Sept. 14. A security staff’s conduct toward National Artist for Literature Ricky Lee on the day of the launch was slammed by netizens. The security personnel interrupted the interaction between Wurtzbach and Lee, as he tried to separate the pair while they were shaking hands.
The award-winning screenwriter has since addressed the issue, and told INQUIRER.net, in a statement, that while he did not want to put blame on the security staff, Lee believed that he could have gone about his work in a more considerate manner.
Moreover, Lee, who claimed to not have been offended by the incident, “[in] hindsight,” said that it’s a good thing the incident happened as it started on social media a discussion regarding the proper treatment and acknowledgement of artists. EDV
