Marian Rivera says reunion movie with Dingdong Dantes is a ‘dream come true’

Marian Rivera couldn’t contain her excitement for the upcoming Star Cinema film “Rewind,” which also stars her husband Dingdong Dantes, as she described the experience as a “dream come true.”
Rivera, who told reporters at the Preview Ball that filming would commence this month, said she’s looking forward to acting alongside her husband as it’s been a while since then.
“Super excited. Kapag pinagke-kwentuhan namin siya, nilo-nilook forward namin ‘yung ‘Rewind’ kasi ang tagal naming hindi nag-work together. Ito na ‘yung moment naming mag-arte arte sa set (We’re super excited. When we talk about ‘Rewind,’ we’re looking forward to it because we haven’t worked together in a long time. This is our moment to act on set),” she said.
The Kapuso star then confessed that the thought of working with Dantes in a Star Cinema film is “overwhelming” in a good way, while showing her admiration for the film’s director Mae Cruz-Alviar.
“Super excited kasi ang tagal ko nang hindi nagpe-pelikula. Tapos this time, it’s with Star Cinema and Dong pa. Nakaka-overwhelm ‘yung pakiramdam. Dream come true for me,” she said, referring to her husband using his nickname. “Nakakatuwa na si [Mae Cruz-Alviar] ‘yung [tipong] direktor na tutulungan ka hangga’t kaya niya. Nilo-look forward kong maka-bonding siya.”
(I’m so excited because I haven’t been in a movie for a long time. And this time, it’s a Star Cinema project and more so, with Dingdong. It’s a dream come true. It also makes me happy that Mae Cruz-Alviar is the type of director who helps you whenever she can. I look forward to bonding with her.)
“Rewind” is among the entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in December, and will be up against “A Mother and Son’s Story” starring Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards, “K(Ampon)” starring Beauty Gonzales and Derek Ramsay, and “Penduko” starring Matteo Guidicelli and Cristine Reyes.
When asked about facing award-winning actresses in the MMFF, Rivera pointed out that the film festival is an opportunity for Filipino moviegoers to enjoy watching films in theaters again.
“Nakakatuwa kasi prayer namin, lahat kaming magkakaroon ng entry, na manood ulit at bumalik ang pagtangkilik ng mga tao sa panonood ng pelikula. ‘Yun naman ang goal namin (The MMFF makes me happy because for us who are part of the festival’s lineup, we pray for moviegoers to watch films again. That’s our goal),” she said.
The “Marimar” star, however, laughed, when she was asked about the possibility of bringing her children Zia and Sixto on the set of her upcoming film.
“Kapag medyo nakahinga ako kasi first, second day ko, nangangapa pa ako. Ayokong mahirapan ako. Siguro kapag nakaluwag na (Maybe I’ll do it when I can fully breathe. I’m still adjusting on the first and second day of filming. I don’t want to have a hard time. Maybe when my load gets lighter),” she said.
