MANILA, Philippines — The Miss Philippines Culture and Heritage Celebration and the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide competition are approaching the homestretch of their screening this weekend, and the eventual candidates will get busy right away as the two competitions will headline the celebration of “The Filipino Festival” in October.

The successful applicants will serve as influencers who will promote Filipino culture and heritage through the month-long festival’s various events, beginning with “The Filipino Music Fest” on Oct. 5 at the 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub at Estancia Mall in Pasig City.

On Oct. 6, the diverse cuisines of the country and the remarkable handiwork of Filipino artisans and craftsmen take the spotlight in “The Filipino Food and Products Fest” that will run until Oct. 22. The event hopes to bring in culinary enthusiasts and afficionados of Filipino-made products from within the country and overseas.

“The Filipino Fashion Festival” will transform Estancia Mall into a runway on Oct. 7, as it brings together the most recognized names in the industry and some of the country’s most promising designers for a special fashion show featuring their world-class creations.

Budding homegrown filmmakers will take their first step to achieving global recognition in “The Filipino Film Festival” on Oct. 8 at the Estancia Cinema, where the qualifying finalists’ works will be shown, and the winners will be proclaimed. This will also be a red carpet event for the delegates of The Miss Philippines to serve up their best formal looks.

The Filipino Festival will also co-produce Korean actor Kim Young Dae’s fan meet on Oct. 21. The K-drama star’s presence during the month-long celebration is envisioned to attract global interest in the country, and entice foreign visitors to experience Filipino culture and heritage.

The Miss Philippines and Mister Pilipinas Worldwide will mount back-to-back coronation shows where reigning queen Pauline Amelinckx and Mister Pilipinas Supranational Johannes Rissler will relinquish their national titles. The winners will get the chance to represent the country in prestigious international competitions—Miss Supranational, Miss Charm, Miss Asia Pacific International, Mister Supranational, Mister International, Manhunt International Male Supermodel, Mister Global, and Mister Cosmopolitan.

The two searches will hold one more screening of applicants on Sept. 9 at Enderun CoWorking Estancia at the South Wing of Estancia Mall. For more information, contact the two competitions’ official social media accounts, or send an e-mail to info@empire.ph.

Those who would like to join The Filipino Festival’s various fests may visit its social media pages, or contact Empire Philippines by sending an e-mail to thefilipinofestival@empire.ph for more information. Entries to the fashion, film, and music fests will be accepted until Sept. 25, and the qualifying entries will be announced online on Sept. 26. EDV
