Pokwang throws shade at ‘irresponsible husbands’ in shared video
Months after taking her marital woes with estranged partner Lee O’Brian to court, Pokwang shared a video that appeared to throw shade at “irresponsible husbands.”
In her Instagram, the actress-comedienne shared a video of a church pastor’s sermon who was discussing “irresponsible husbands” and “spoiled men.”
“Itong mga iresponsableng husbands ngayon, pinalaki ng mga nanay ‘yan sa ganyan — 80%. Ang lagi nating dapat ituro sa bahay, kapag may mga batang lalaki, teach them how to be good fathers and good husbands,” the pastor said.
(Irresponsible husbands nowadays were brought up by their mothers to be that day — 80% of them are. We must teach young boys how to be good fathers and good husbands.)
“Kasi ‘pag nakinig kayo sa lahat ng problema ng tao, sa Pilipinas halos, four yata out of five na babae, iniiwan ng asawang lalaki. T’as iniiwan na may mga anak na papalakihin, bahala ka na sa buhay mo. Mga girlfriend na bubuntisin tapos bahala ka na sa buhay mo,” he continued.

As seen in the video, the pastor then reminded his listeners to “teach men to become men,” while noting that many households view fathers as “masters,” while relegating mothers to the role of “servants.”
“We must teach our men to become men because forever boys… [at huwag gumawa] ng generation of spoiled men who will become irresponsible husbands,” he said. “Diba nakikita ka nila sa bahay. Among-amo ‘yung tatay, ‘yung mga nanay chimay, so uulitin lang nila kapag sila na ang may sariling asawa.”
(We must teach our men to become men instead of being forever boys, and to not create a generation of spoiled men who will become irresponsible husbands. You even see it home—men become masters while mothers are servants. So the cycle will repeat itself when men find wives of their own.)
The actress-comedienne’s caption was kept short and sweet in her post, where she said: “Tabi tabi po… real talk lang po… tamaan wag magagalit (Excuse me, real talk only. If anyone gets hurt, don’t get mad.)
Pokwang recently filed a visa cancellation and deportation against O’Brian at a Bureau of Immigration office, saying their legal battle is about defending her rights as a mother and woman.
O’Brian filed a counter-affidavit days later, where he appealed to the Philippine government to look at his case “fairly and with justice.” EDV
