“I met Mike when I was 24 years old and siya ‘yung una kong naging co-anchor… Higit sa lahat, hindi lang siya co-anchor sa akin; Mike was always a friend,” Davila said. “Napakadali niyang kasama, wala siyang yabang, palagi siyang nagpapatawa, masaya siya.”

(I met Mike when I was 24 years old, and he was my first co-anchor. More than anything, Mike was not only a co-anchor; Mike was always a friend. He was very easy to be with; he was not arrogant; he always made people laugh, he was happy.)

“Mike, all I can tell you right now is we feel the loss in the industry. You’ve made so many friends who love you, and I know you’re in heaven right now and you’re just so valued,” she added.

“I guess, sometimes, ang naaalala natin ay ‘yung ingay ng pagiging sobrang kwela ni Booma,” said Sembrano for her part, referring to Enriquez’s nickname. “Quietly nando’n yung kanyang courage, ‘yung valor na hindi niya ipinagyayabang. Para sa akin, ‘yun ‘yung kagandahan ng pagkakaalala ko kay Mike Enriquez.”

(I guess, sometimes, what we remember about Booma is the loudness of his fun personality. His courage was there quietly, and he did not brag about his valor.)
