“May girlfriend na ako (I have a girlfriend now),” these were the exact words of Ryan Bang after confirming that he’s now in a relationship, although he has yet to disclose the identity of his partner.
Weeks after revealing that he wants to settle in the Philippines for good, Bang revealed that he has a girlfriend already on the Aug. 29 episode of noontime show “It’s Showtime,” which prompted his co-hosts to envelop him in a big hug.
“Gusto kong sabihin sa aking ‘Showtime’ family, sa harap ninyo, Mommy, Daddy, kay kuya ko, ate ko, Tyang, may girlfriend na ako (I want to tell my Showtime family, in front of you all, mommy, daddy, my big brother and big sister, and my aunt, I have a girlfriend),” he said.
Mainstay host Vice Ganda then admitted that he was sick when he heard the news from Bang himself through a text message, which made him forget how bad he was feeling during that time.
“Ang saya-saya. Alam mo kahapon, ang sama-sama ng pakiramdam ko tapos nag-text siya sa’kin, ang saya-saya niya. Sabi niya, ‘Mommy, ikaw una kong sasabihan.’ Ta’s tinawagan ko siya, umiiyak siya,” Vice recalled. (I’m so happy. Did you know that I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, but I received a text from Ryan who’s so happy. He said, “Mommy, you’ll be the first to know.” Then I called him, and he was crying.)
Bang then admitted that he’s “so happy” to have a girlfriend because he’s been single for so long.
“Siyempre, gusto ko ikaw unang makakaalam, Mommy,” he said, while referring to the “Praybeyt Benjamin” star using his nickname. “Sobra kong saya kasi ang tagal kong naging single tapos ngayon… Thank you so much sa support niyo sa pag-ibig ko.”
(Of course, I want Mommy to know first. I’m so happy because I’ve been single for so long, then now. Thank you so much for your support in my love life.)
During the conversation, Amy Perez hinted that Bang and his girlfriend’s anniversary falls on the 28th of a certain month, although they are mum on the exact date of when their relationship started.
Vice Ganda also asked the noontime show’s audience if they are already in a relationship. “Madlang people, si Ryan Bang may jowa na. Ang tanong, ikaw kaya, when (Everyone, Ryan Bang has a girlfriend already. The question, when will you have a partner),” he quipped.
Bang’s revelation comes weeks after he opened up about wanting to stay in the Philippines with a “Filipina wife” for good, saying he saved up for his future already.
“I want to live forever here in the Philippines with my (future) Filipina (wife),” he said. “Naka-ipon na nga ako. Bata pa lang ako, sinabi ko sa sarili ko, ‘mag-ipon ka’ (I saved up money already. When I was still young, I told myself to save up for the future),” he said during a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview. EDV
