AJ Raval has once again found herself defending her relationship with Aljur Abrenica, saying she only became romantically involved with him in July 2022, after the latter had split with his estranged wife, actress Kylie Padilla, for good.

Months after denying that she’s Abrenica’s “mistress,” Raval set the record straight on her relationship with the actor in a Facebook live last Tuesday, Aug. 15, saying the accusations towards her were “too much.”

“Di baleng tawagin niyo na ‘kong kabit and all. Pero I swear to God, ikamatay man ng pamilya ko ngayon, nag-start ‘yung relationship namin na wala kaming nasasaktan. Wala kaming nilokong tao,” she said. (I don’t mind if you call me a “mistress.” But I swear to God, even if my family dies, our relationship started without hurting anyone. We didn’t cheat.)

“A year after [manligaw ni Aljur Abrenica sa’kin], doon kami naging official. Mga last year, July. Wala talaga kaming niloko, ikamatay man ng buong pamilya ko. I swear to God,” she further added.

The sexy star then stressed that she made sure to clarify the status of Abrenica and Padilla’s relationship prior to getting romantically involved with her partner.

“Sa ‘Nerisa,’ friends pa lang talaga kami… Lumipas ang panahon, kinilala namin ang isa’t isa. Tinanong ko siya… Paano ‘yung wife, ‘yung family [niya]. Sabi niya sa‘kin okay lang ‘yun [kasi] hiwalay na sila. May partner na rin si Kylie [Padilla] that time kay nag-go ako,” she said, although she didn’t disclose the identity of Padilla’s alleged “partner” in the video.

(We were just friends even while filming “Nerisa.” As time passed, that’s when we started getting to know each other better. I asked him, “what about his wife, his family?” He said it’s okay because they’ve broken up already. Kylie Padilla already has a partner, that’s why I accepted his intentions.)

Echoing the Kapuso star’s request on social media, Raval also begged netizens to stop tagging Padilla in posts involving her and Abrenica, saying they deserve to be left in peace.

“Tama na, guys. Pakinggan niyo na si Kylie. Tama na ‘yung pagta-tag sa kanya. Nananahimik ‘yung tao, ini-stress niyo,” she said. “Enough na please. Enough na ‘yung sa baby baby issue and buntis and all. Hindi nangyari ‘yun. Walang ganu’n.”

(Guys, please stop. Please listen to Kylie. Stop tagging her. She wants to be left alone and you’re stressing her out. Enough, please. Enough with the baby and pregnancy issue and all. That didn’t happen. Nothing like that happened.)
