Erik Santos grieves father’s death months after mom died

Months after his mother passed away in November, Erik Santos is mourning the death of his father, Renato Santos, who died on Thursday, Aug. 10.
The singer confirmed his father’s passing through his Instagram page on Friday, Aug. 11. Renato was 70.
“Our beloved Tatay has now joined our Creator,” Erik said. “Mahal na mahal kita, Tay.”
Erik also included in his post the Bible verse 2 Timothy 4:7-8: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.”
Santos has yet to give further details on Renato’s death.

Erik’s fellow celebrities Angeline Quinto, Sharon Cuneta, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera and Ice Seguerra were among those who extended their condolences to the singer and his family.

Erik’s mother, Angelita Santos, passed away on Nov. 25 last year at the age of 66. The singer wished for his mom’s “complete healing” during his birthday celebration on “ASAP Natin ‘To” a month prior, although he did not give further details about her health condition. /ra
