KC Concepcion elated over parents Sharon, Gabby’s reunion concert

KC Concepcion could not seem to contain her excitement over the prospect of seeing her parents, veteran actors Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, together on stage at the pair’s forthcoming reunion concert in October.
The younger actress said this through a statement released on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Thursday, Aug. 10.
“Sobrang happy ko (I am so happy) to be back in Manila for this very special reunion concert!” she was quoted as saying. “I can feel that a lot of Filipinos around the world, together with me, would be so happy to witness this experience of seeing my Papa and Mama together on stage.”
KC also stressed, “Kung excited kayo, eh di lalo naman ako! Kaya sama-sama na tayo!” (If you’re excited, then I’m more excited! We are all [excited]!)
Cuneta and Gabby, dubbed as “ShaGab,” first teased their reunion in July. The former couple then confirmed earlier this month that they will have a reunion concert titled “Dear Heart” on Oct. 27.
The veteran actors’ love team began after they starred in the 1981 film “Dear Heart.” Three years after the movie was released, Cuneta and Concepcion got married, then welcomed their daughter KC a year later.
However, the pair’s romance did not last as they had their marriage annulled in 1987.
Both screen veterans are now married to their respective partners—Cuneta to former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, and Concepcion to Genevieve Gonzales. /ra
