Lea Salonga has returned to the theater stage after recovering from COVID-19, but the singer-actress admitted that while she has already been feeling a lot better, she’s “still not at [her] 100%.”

Salonga earlier disclosed her COVID-19 diagnosis, explaining that her temporary absence from “Here Lies Love” was due to the disease. Salonga plays the role of Aurora Aquino, the mother of the late senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. in the musical.

“Although I did wish to return by the weekend, COVID had other ideas, so out of an abundance of caution for audiences, co-workers and myself, I opted to take all the time to rest and heal,” she added.

Salonga then gave a recent update on her health and announced her return to staging shows, via her Instagram page on Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Salonga earlier made headlines after she aired her dismay over fans who barged into the singer’s Broadway dressing room for a photo opportunity.

Salonga said she initially gave the fans the “benefit of the doubt” after saying they were “friends” with “Here Lies Love” co-producer G Tongi, but the singer was later informed that the show’s production staff had “no idea” who the fans were.

A video of the incident was uploaded by Christopher Carpila, one of the fans who approached Salonga in her dressing room, who said he will not apologize for what happened as he did not do anything wrong.  /ra
