Citing insider reports, showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin claimed that Jeffrey Oh, the CEO of talent label Careless, might be subject to deportation proceedings after his alleged failure to provide authorities with necessary documents to operate business in the Philippines, including a registration under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

During an episode of her “Cristy Ferminute” on Monday, July 31, Fermin alleged that Oh, dubbed Korean-American by nationality, was arrested by authorities after they received complaints against the Careless CEO.

(This information was given to me last Friday. Liza Soberano’s new manager was apparently raided by authorities in his office located at Poblacion, Makati because there were complaints against him.)

(Jeffrey Oh might be deported. He might face deportation complaints. Apparently, he does not have the necessary documents to be permitted to operate business in the Philippines. He also does not have business registration under the SEC.)

Fermin further said that the authorities conducted a “setup” to arrest Oh, and that he has already undergone inquest proceedings.

“Ni-set up ‘yung paghuli sa kanya nung Friday.

The showbiz columnist also said that Malcolm Reid, father of Oh’s business partner James Reid, was among those who filed complaints against Oh.

(There are a lot of individuals who filed complaints against Oh and one of them was James Reid’s dad. This was reportedly because James has not yet received the money that he should have gotten as Oh’s business partner.)

The management of Careless, including Reid, have yet to address these claims, as of writing.

INQUIRER.net sought the comment of Careless on the matter, but a company representative said it is not inclined to give a comment at this time.

The source who requested anonymity said, however, that Reid still is “very much active as an artist and as its chairman.” The source declined to comment on other topics mentioned by Fermin.

Reid is currently working on a collaboration with Singaporean singer-songwriter Benjamin Kheng for the latter’s new single called “Rock Bottom Blues.”

“This collaboration on the single ‘Rock Bottom Blues’ (is) the first release from Benjamin’s highly anticipated two-part album, Gloomy Boogie,” a statement from Careless said. EDV
