ABS-CBN primetime princess Belle Mariano expressed her excitement about working with GMA star Barbie Forteza in a future project, weeks after they performed together on “It’s Showtime’s” pilot episode on GMA’s GTV channel.
Mariano said she “would love” to work with Forteza during a Cinema News interview with host Bianca Gonzalez last Thursday, July 20, where she was asked about the possibility of teaming up with the latter for a future project.
“Yes, of course. I would love to work with her. Nag-share kami ng experiences namin with work and gusto kong maranasan ang work set-up with her naman,” she said. “I think since it’s our first time meeting and gan’un kami ka-warm sa isa’t isa, I would look forward to that, hopefully in the future if ever we’re given the chance to work with one another.”

Mariano said that she was glad to have found an instant friend in Forteza, who she was able to share her experiences with, being someone whose traits jived with hers. They even shared an interest in “watching documentaries on streaming platforms.”
“She’s so nice. It’s the first time [we met]. We first met noong rehearsals namin for the dance prod. Nagkasundo kami agad (We clicked right away). I remember that we were just in this one dressing room and we were talking about documentaries kasi both of us share the interest of watching documentaries on streaming platforms,” she said.
Mariano started her showbiz career as a child actress, and went on to appear in a series of successful projects including “He’s Into Her” seasons one and two, “An Inconvenient Love,” and “Love is Color Blind.” She is set to headline the upcoming teleserye “Can’t Buy Me Love” with her onscreen partner Donny Pangilinan.
Like her, Forteza was also a child star before blossoming into being a leading lady in several shows on the Kapuso network, including her recent projects such as “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” “Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune,” “The Half Sisters,” and “Mariquina.” Among her upcoming projects include “Maging Sino Ka Man” and “That Kind of Love” with her loveteam partner David Licauco, and the teleserye “Pulang Araw.” EDV
