BTS member Jimin extended his gratitude to Ryan Gosling after receiving Ken’s guitar from “Barbie,” which the Canadian actor sent to him as a gift for wearing a film outfit similar to the K-pop star’s “Permission to Dance” costume.

Gosling, who stars as Ken in “Barbie,” reached out to Jimin through a video on the film’s Instagram page last July 20. In the clip, Gosling pointed out that Jimin’s outfit in the music video of BTS’ hit 2021 song was similar to the ensemble worn by the actor in “Barbie.”

“I have to give it to you—you wore it first, you definitely wore it best, and there’s an unspoken Ken code that if you bite another Ken’s style, you have to give them your most prized possession,” Gosling explained, adding that he was gifting the K-pop star with Ken’s guitar as a “humble offering.”

“Besides, Ken doesn’t really play anyway, so, it’ll be much better in your hands,” the actor added.

Jimin has since received the guitar and thanked Gosling through a video as well, shown on the K-pop star’s Instagram page.

“Hi, Ryan, and hi, Ken. It’s Jimin. Congrats on your big release,” Jimin said. “I could see that you look great in my outfit. Thank you for this guitar. I really love it and I look forward to watching ‘Barbie.'”

“Go, ‘Barbie’!” he cheered, strumming the instrument.

Aside from Gosling, “Barbie” stars Margot Robbie, Emma Mackey, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, Dua Lipa and Issa Rae, among others.

The Greta Gerwig-helmed film claimed the top spot in the North American theaters with a massive $155 million in ticket sales during its opening week. It surpassed “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” as the biggest opening of the year, and broke the first weekend record for a film directed by a woman.  /ra
