While Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque have yet to plan their upcoming wedding, the actress revealed that they will “definitely” tie the knot sometime “next year.”
Alonzo admitted in an interview with GMA’s 24 Oras on Friday, July 21, that while she’s excited to marry Roque, they haven’t started planning their wedding yet. The couple announced their engagement last July 19.
“We both know what we want and definitely, it’s not going to be a grand [wedding]. Or maybe, hindi ko alam saan kami dadalhin kasi it’s too soon to tell (I don’t know where fate will lead us because it’s too soon to tell,” she said.
“Definitely next year. Hindi ko pa masabi kasi hindi ko pa nakakausap ang planners namin. We haven’t even picked [kung] sino (I can’t say how our wedding will go because we haven’t talked to our planners yet. We haven’t picked our suppliers yet),” she continued.
The “Love Before Sunrise” star, however, admitted that she already has “one designer” in mind when it comes to her wedding gown, although she has yet to confirm their identity.
“I have a designer in mind na talagang when I was a little girl, I would think about weddings, siya ‘yung naiisip ko (they’re the only person I have in mind),” she said.
The actress, who confessed that she had some sort of inkling that Roque would propose to her soon, initially thought that her partner would ask for her hand in marriage in November.
“To be honest, medyo ineexpect ko na siya because for months now, iba iba ‘yung information [na natanggap ko]. Like ‘yung friends niya sinasabi na malapit na. Baka November [daw], eh we’re going to Japan this November. Kasi sobrang significant ng Japan sa’min because that’s where we fell in love. So akala ko doon,” she said.
“Actually, after the GMA Gala, talagang pupunta kami ng Singapore, so parang may feeling ako na doon siya magpopropose. So ‘yun ‘yung pinaghahandaan ko na, ‘Hala, ano kaya ‘yung gagawin niya?’” she further added.
(To be honest, I’ve been expecting it because for months, I’ve been receiving different information. Like some of his friends would tell me that it’s coming soon, maybe it’s this November, since we’re going to Japan then because it’s significant for us as it’s the place where we fell in love. So I thought he’ll propose to me there. Actually, after the GMA Gala, we’re going to Singapore so I also had a feeling he’ll ask my hand in marriage there. So I’ve been preparing for that in some sort of, “Oh no, what will he do?)
The report also said that the celebrity couple is set to hold the traditional pamamanhikan with their families “soon,” where the groom and his family will ask for the bride and her family’s permission to marry.
Alonzo confirmed her relationship with Roque in August 2021, saying their romance just came “naturally.” EDV
