Topbilled by real-life couple, Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz, it’s directed by Rod Marmol. The film just might convince your heart that if you can’t win, why play?
Here’s my chat with Julie:
Will you give your boyfriend a second chance if he cheats on you?
For me, cheating is nonnegotiable. To grant a second chance would depend on the situation and the weight of the betrayal.
What’s your takeaway from the character you portrayed?
Cheaters never win. When you commit in a relationship, it must not be half-baked. All relationships have ups ad downs. So when you take the risk of falling, you must be ready.
How would you describe the stage that your relationship with Rayver Cruz is in right now?
Happy, content and secure.
What’s your advice to women on how to keep their man from straying?
It’s beyond women’s control. It’s really up to the man if he will stay faithful. But if you’re trying your best to be a good girlfriend, then the problem is not with you. To sum it all up, find someone like Ravyer Cruz.
Would you say that Rayver is finally “the one”?
Of course.
Cesar’s song for Sunshine
Since the title of BFF Buboy’s (Cesar Montano) new show on TV5 with Cristine Reyes and Marco Gumabao is “Minsan Pa Natin Hagkan ang Nakaraan,” I teased him, “’Since your ex-wife Sunshine [Cruz] and your girlfriend Kat [Angeles] are friends already, would you invite your other exes, Teresa Loyzaga and Sandra Seifert, to your next “blended family” get-together?”
In jest, Buboy said, “People might think we are coming up with a Mrs. Philippines beauty contest. Kidding aside, it’s not a bad idea to get them all together.
“But it’s best to keep it down and in a simple mode. Let God do it in His own perfect time. By the way, I wrote a song for Sunshine after we separated, called ‘Paano Na.’ But now ko lang na-send kay Shine my recording of it … na duet namin ni Rita Daniela. She liked it naman. I will also compose a song for Kat soon.”
Then I ribbed BFF, “If you will all star in a movie, it should be called ‘The Ex Factor’ or ‘Past Forward.’”

Daring move for ‘The Voice Kids’ alum
This kid has turned into a woman. Make way for “The Voice Kids” charmer, Ataska. Her launching film, “Bugaw” (now streaming on Vivamax), is about the awful reality that there are parents who pimp their own children.
Megged by Yam Laranas, it also stars Alexa Ocampo, Clifford Pusing and Jay Manalo. Let the movie remind parents that their kids are not things to be molded, but persons to be unfolded.

A: I turned into a fan girl when I met Kuya Jay and Direk Yam because their film “Balahibong Pusa” is one of my faves. Because of them, I had no qualms about accepting the offer to do our film in spite of its title, which sounds kind of sleazy.
AX: After doing our film, I realized that sex workers who are also human beings who deserve health care benefits for the sake of safe sex.
J: I don’t intimidate newbies like Ataska; I support them instead. But I don’t give them advice because there was a time na “binastos” ako ng isang newbie sa shoot after ko magbigay ng acting tips sa kanya.
A: Since I’m a singer, I incorporate music in everything I do. So I made a playlist that’s suited to the character I portray. I listened to it while internalizing my role.
AX: Even if some people will call me “Ms Bugaw” because of our film, I won’t feel offended because that means tumatak sa kanila ang movie namin.
J: It’s flattering to be given the moniker “Jay the Baptist.” Kasi ako daw ang “nagbibinyag” sa newbies. I’m proud to initiate their baptism of fire. I make it a point to underact in order to make them shine.
A: Prostitution proliferates because there’s a demand for it and, sad to say, it’s the means for survival of many women.

When vice consumes people
If we want something badly enough to happen, it will. But sometimes, what we obsess about possesses us … just like what happens in the riveting action flick, “Bisyo” (streaming on Vivamax).
Directed by Daniel Palacio, it is topbilled by Gold Aceron, Angelica Hart, Ataska, Aerol Carmelo and Mark Anthony Fernandez. The film will show us that we must not let our hunger for success consume us to the point of being eaten alive.

A: From the character I portrayed, I learned not to be too much of a people-pleaser anymore. I must not be bothered by the opinion of others about me.
AL: My “bisyo” used to be computer games. I played almost 24 hours day. It’s good I was able to stop. We must realize that vices have bad effects if we let them rule our lives.
G: For me, it’s harder to act in theater than in movies because there’s no Take 2 and the audience demands instant gratification.
A: After winning in “PantaXa,” I shed off all my inhibitions. I will do a “Ruffa Mae Quinto,” yes, “Todo na ‘to!”
AL: Mark Anthony is very chill. He gave me acting tips. He was the voice of experience on the set.
G: Just like my idol, Robin Padilla, I don’t want to have a double in my stunts. I’m willing to explore whatever show biz sends my way.
A: I’m a shoe addict, but I am not a slave to my bisyo. I consider my shoe collection an investment more than a vice.
G: If my girlfriend is more into her bisyo than me, I won’t deprive her of the joy it gives her, as long as it’s not life-threatening or financially draining.
