Barbie Forteza admitted feeling like a “main character” as she poked fun at the discussions among fans on whether the actress will have her boyfriend, Jak Roberto, or her love-team partner, David Licauco, as her date for the GMA Gala 2023.
Forteza chimed in on the topic as she reposted a tweet about how JakBie and BarDa fans have been “anxiously waiting for the red carpet walk of their idols,” as seen on the actress’ Twitter page on Friday, July 19. GMA Gala 2023 will be held on Saturday, July 22.
“Gusto ko yung ito na agad ang iniisip niyo. Samantalang ako, ginagawa ang lahat para magpagaling dahil may trabaho pa ko bago mag-Gala,” she disclosed. (I find it amusing that you are discussing about this while I am here, doing everything to recover because I still have work before the Gala.)
“Not covid tho,” she then clarified. “Gumive up nalang talaga ang (sexy) body ko sa dami ng blessings this month. Amen.” (It’s not COVID-19, though. My body just gave up from all the blessings (work) this month. Amen.)
Forteza added that she even felt flattered over the anticipation built up by fans.
“Pero gusto ko tong mga paganito ha? It’s giving main character vibe! Nakakafretty, indeed! Char,” she quipped. (But I like these discussions. It’s giving [me the] main character vibe! I feel pretty, indeed!)

Forteza and Licauco’s love team started after the actors portrayed the characters of Klay and Fidel, respectively, in the hit GMA TV series “Maria Clara at Ibarra.”
Meanwhile, Forteza has been in a relationship with Roberto for six years. In a 2021 interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the actor declared that Forteza is “the one” for him. /ra
