MANILA, Philippines—Pauline Amelinckx has inched closer to capturing the 2023 Miss Supranational crown after advancing to the global tilt’s Top 12 in ceremonies taking place at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sacz, Poland.

The 12 ladies were selected from the Top 24 delegates who competed in the semifinal swimsuit round, where they all wore neon yellow swimwear, paired with peach-colored capes. The rest of the candidates also paraded during the segment.

Joining Amelinckx in the Top 12 is Ngan Dang Thanh from Vietnam who advanced for winning the fan vote. Also in the Top 12 are the delegates from Brazil, Netherlands, Peru, Ecuador, United Kingdom, Philippines, Dominican Republic, India, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Gibraltar.

Thailand’s Patraporn Wang, who was crowned Miss Intercontinental in 2014, ended her Miss Supranational journey in the Top 24.

Amelinckx is on a quest to give the Philippines its second Miss Supranational victory 10 years after Mutya Johanna Datul became the first Filipino woman to win in the international pageant.

The Belgian-Filipino model and host from Bohol received the Miss Supranational Philippines title after finishing in the Top 3 of the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant held in May, her third participation in the national competition.

She has so far extended the Philippines’ Miss Supranational placement streak to 11 consecutive editions, that started in 2012 when Ellaine Kay Moll finished as third runner-up.

The 2023 Miss Supranational pageant, the global tilt’s 14th edition, gathered 65 delegates from different countries and territories. Reigning queen Lalela Mswane, the first winner from South Africa, will relinquish her title to her successor at the culmination of the competition.

The Poland-based international pageant is seeking women who are “aspirational” and “inspirational.”
