WATCH: Vice Ganda, Ion Perez affirm love for each other with matching tattoos

Vice Ganda and Ion Perez got five matching tattoos which, according to the couple, symbolize their relationship—permanent and for life.
The celebrity couple documented the process of getting inked through a vlog on Vice Ganda’s YouTube channel on Monday, July 10.
“Since we’ll be partners for life, itong markang ito ay for life na rin ito at wala nang burahan,” Vice Ganda said before getting tattooed. “So, kailangan ‘yung pang-partners talaga ‘yung ilalagay namin, mga bagay na hindi pwedeng paghiwalayin—just like us.”
(Since we’ll be partners for life, these marks stay for life and are permanent. So, we should really get [matching objects as tattoos]; objects that should not be separated from each other, just like us.)
Vice Ganda and Perez’s tattoos include matching smiley, heart, as well as the words king and queen, “I am with you,” and “forever.” Each tattoo, inked on the TV hosts’ hands and fingers, are separated into two and will only be complete if the couple hold each other’s hands.

“‘I am with you’ [because] as you can see, we are very clingy to each other,” Vice Ganda spoke of such tattoo. “Kaming dalawa ‘yung hindi kami mapakali kapag hindi kami magkasama. Ako hindi nakakatulog talaga ‘pag hindi kami magkasama. We always make it a point to make each other feel that we are together.”
(We are uneasy whenever we are not together. In my case, I really can’t sleep whenever [I’m not with him]. We always make it a point to make each other feel that we are together.)
“Smiley [because] we are each other’s joy,” he then explained the smiley tattoo. “He makes me smile, I make him smile.”
Vice Ganda and Perez confirmed their relationship to the public in 2019, then got engaged in 2020. The couple had a wedding commitment ceremony in Las Vegas in October 2021, but it was only made public in February last year.
During an episode of his weekend show “Everybody Sing” earlier this month, Vice Ganda became emotional as he recounted how he let his fear of being bashed prevent him from announcing their engagement right away. /ra
