Kapuso star Jak Roberto has reminded his followers to be careful against scammers who are using his name for what seemed to be a celebrity video greeting service, in exchange for a fee.
Roberto issued the warning on his Instagram Story on Monday, July 10, as he shared a screenshot of the scammer who’s using his name for the offensive gesture.
“Modus nya [emoji] kunin number ng ibang artista sa ibang artista din tas humihingi siya ng video greet sa event na iniinquire niya na raket!” he wrote on his post.
(The scammer would get the numbers of celebrities, while claiming that he got it from other celebrities as well, then he would request for a video greeting in events as some sort of a side gig.)
The actor then advised his followers to not give out their “down payment” immediately, while noting that those who received some sort of video greetings from celebrities should ignore the messages immediately.
“Paalala lang po: Wag po kayo basta basta magbibigay ng down payment sa mga scammer na gumagamit ng video greeting ng celebrity! Sa nasendan po ng video greeting namin pls do not entertain po!” he added.
(Reminder: Don’t give some sort of downpayment to scammers who use a celebrity’s video greeting. To those who received a video greeting of ours, please do not entertain them.)
Roberto, who’s currently in a relationship with Barbie Forteza, has appeared in several GMA series throughout his career including “Bolera,” “Kara Mia,” and “Contessa,” among many others. EDV
