Quezon City councilor Alfred Vargas could not help but admire his wife Yasmine for the hardships she is going through as she is now 13 weeks pregnant on their fourth child.
On Instagram, Vargas penned a sweet appreciation message to his wife of 13 years, saying the world was a better place with her in it.
“With immense gratitude to God, the Vargas family is elated to share that my amore, @yasmine_vargas2307 is now 13 weeks pregnant with our fourth child!” he said in his caption. “God has blessed me with a wonderful life. This is mainly because He has not only given me a beautiful wife, inside and out, but a brave one as well. Yasmine is truly a fighter.”
Vargas felt that his wife is admirable as she was bravely fighting off the side effects of her pregnancy.
“Kung alam lang nila, Amore ko, ang matinding paghihirap na pinagdaanan at pinagdaraanan mo…” he said. (If they only knew, my Amore, the great hardships that you went through and that you’re hoing through).
Vargas revealed that on his wife’s fourth pregnancy she is suffering with hyperemesis gravidarum, or severe morning sickness that involved prolonged nausea and vomiting.
“She can’t even drink water nang hindi nagsusuka (without vomitting) after. She lost several kgs in the first 3 weeks,” he said.
Aside from that, Vargas said that this pregnancy also marked the second time that his wife had an anxiety disorder wherein “she experiences relentless anxiety and panic attacks (without any triggers).”
With her condition, his wife was asked to be on “bedrest” for the whole first trimester and had her hooked up on intravenous fluid on some days just for her to “have enough vitamins and treatment.”
“So far, with God’s grace and the reliable support system that we have (doctors, experts, friends and family), Yasmine is able to steadfastly beat every challenge that arrives,” he said, as he asked for prayer for “Yasmine’s and our little baby’s great perfect health and well-being.”
“We’re also counting on your support and understanding on this journey of ours as we welcome the newest member of the family this coming January,” he said. EDV
