Korina Sanchez is back working with ABS-CBN as the broadcast journalist signed a co-production deal with the network for her news magazine and lifestyle show “Rated Korina” on Wednesday, July 5.
The contract signing was attended by ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN president-CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO of broadcast Cory Vidanes, OIC of finance group Vincent Paul Piedad, and Global Resource Creative Exchange president and talent manager Girlie Rodis.
“And, just like that, Im baaaack. Well, I never really left,” Sanchez said through her Instagram page. “‘Rated Korina’ had always aired still on the ABSCBN platforms the past years, thanks to Brightlight Productions and Mr. Albee Benitez.”
“Now, as a balikbayan, I come in as a partner with my ABS-CBN family, who I grew up with, via the co-production of ‘Rated Korina.’ The baby is now a lady,” she continued.
Sanchez thanked the ABS-CBN executives for the “heartwarming and sincere hugs,” and stressed how the greeting “Welcome back home” lingered in her ear and heart.
“You can take the girl out of ABS-CBN, but you can’t take that ABS-CBN training out of the girl,” she wrote. “And this is the experience I hopefully bring to my other broadcast homes and make a contribution as best I can, while I can, in whatever ways made possible to me.”
Sanchez then received warm welcome from fans as well as fellow journalists Karen Davila and Dyan Castillejo.
“Rated Korina” was formerly known “Rated K” when it was still airing on the Kapamilya network. The show was changed to its current title after Sanchez transferred to TV5 network in 2020. /ra
