Filipino songwriter Mark Anthony Cuevas debut his first love song to global listeners
Mark Anthony Cuevas, an independent praise and worship songwriter releases his first ever love song to the global audience last May 24, 2023 through major digital streaming platforms. The song entitled “The Summer After Valentine’s Day” is part of the EP Album “Ecstatic” by the Waswabe Group of Artists.
Transitioning from his comfort zone, Mark Cuevas wrote a feel-good, easy-to-sing-along ballad that imparts a special message behind the catchy melody. Within the chorus, the message of being committed and present on a daily basis is essential to a meaningful relationship that evolves from the love-struck excitement of the first day of meeting someone special. Thus, the symbolism behind the summer after valentine’s day.
Collaborating with recognized artists like singer Daryl Reyes, brilliant guitarist Archie Salvador and industry renowned sound engineer Dante Tañedo, amplified the song as it came to life way beyond the expectation of the composer.
Mark’s usual response to interviews from various online radio programs and review blogs on the topic of “the rationale behind the transition” was always comically expressed as “from peer pressure.” He asserted laughably that it was never really planned in the first place. But with the “help” from his co-songwriters, he was “inspired” to write something outside of his comfort zone. Nonetheless, Mark is super grateful to his co-artists within the album project such as Jimi Wasabe, Jasmine Aquino and Jun Victoria that he tried something new and it was really an “Ecstatic” experience for the him. He would always leave this message to aspiring songwriters: “never be afraid of trying something new in songwriting and always have fun in the process.”
The Summer After Valentine’s Day is now officially available in Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon music and all other digital streaming platforms.
