ABS-CBN has signed a five-year content agreement with TV5 network, as the media giants reaffirmed its goal to provide programs during the latter’s primetime slots and create more shows with the former.

The contract signing event took place on Wednesday, June 28, where the executives of the Kapamilya and Kapatid network joined forces at a contract signing event, where the agreement would last for five years.

“I think it’s a partnership which we’ve been very happy with, and I think that there are a lot of opportunities that we can do together. We have a lot of programs in store for our audience moving forward. We will make sure that we’ll create the right content for everyone,” ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez said during an interview with TV5.

Meanwhile, TV5 president Guido Zaballero said the content agreement includes showing ABS-CBN’s programs on the former’s primetime slots from Monday to Sunday, as he pointed out that he “values” his business relationship with the Kapamilya network.

“We intend to continue as a partnership, as well as ASAP. But that is only the tip of the iceberg. We’re also working with ABS-CBN for the co-production in the afternoon [slot] and we’ll just continue to develop really good content together,” he said.

Zaballero also shared that the Kapatid network will continue to broadcast ABS-CBN shows such as “Batang Quiapo,” “Dirty Linen,” “ASAP,” “The Iron Heart,” and “Everybody Sing,” while “two [co-produced] afternoon soaps” are set to be released this July.

It can be noted that ABS-CBN and TV5 joined forces in the upcoming drama “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” starring Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, Charlie Dizon, Joseph Marco, Elisse Joson, Alexa Ilacad, and KD Estrada, although a premiere date is yet to be announced, as of this writing.
