“Korea’s Got Talent” alum Choi Sung-bong was reportedly found dead by the police in his home in Seoul on Tuesday morning. He was 33.

The police are still conducting investigations, but they suspect that the singer took his own life, as per a report from South Korean media outlet Yonhap News Agency on Wednesday, June 21.

It can also be noted that Choi Sung-bong earlier shared a letter through his YouTube channel, saying it was the “last thing” he would be sending to his fans. In the letter, he apologized to those who suffered from his “foolish mistake” in the past.

The singer was referring to his controversy in 2021 after he faked being diagnosed with various types of cancer. Choi Sung-bong received a large sum of donations from fans, which he then promised to return.

Choi Sung-bong started his singing career in the reality talent competition “Korea’s Got Talent” in 2011, wherein he emerged as second runner-up.  /ra
