Rhian Ramos revealed that she already broke up with her boyfriend, Tutok To Win partylist representative Sam Verzosa, due to lack of “communication” but they eventually got back together.
Ramos made the revelation in an interview with veteran host Boy Abunda in an episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” last Monday, June 19, when she was asked to clarify the status of her relationship with Verzosa.
“Ang huling balita ay naghiwalay, nagkabalikan. What happened?” Abunda asked Ramos. (The final news was that you broke up then got back together. What happened?)
“Okay, yes. That is true na [naghiwalay at nagkabalikan] kami. What happened was, I guess we could have communicated better,” she said in response. “I think it’s very important in a relationship na kaya niyong pag usapan lahat and you’re not forcing the other person na hulaan kung anong nararamdaman mo kasi tao rin tayong lahat.”
(Okay yes. It is true that we broke up and got back together. What happened was, I guess we could have communicated better. I think it’s very important in a relationship that you have to talk to each other about everything, and you’re not forcing the other person to guess what you’re feeling because we’re all human.)
The actress then admitted that Verzosa joining politics was one of the reasons behind their split. “I would say, [Sam entering politics] was one of the reasons, but it was a compilation of a lot of things and it’s hard to say,” she said.
“It was difficult and if I can just be honest, if I think about it, I wish I could have been more supportive. Noong nanalo na siya, doon ko lang na-realize na hindi ko siya nasamahan sa kahit anong rally (When he won, that’s when I realized that I wasn’t able to join him in his rallies),” she continued.
During the interview, the Kapuso star shared that she’s not the type to get too involved in politics, which ultimately affected her relationship with her partner.
“Kasi growing up as an artista, I’ve learned to try to not be so political kasi I don’t want anyone making important decisions because of me, like kung sino ang iboboto. Kaya never din akong nakapag-endorse ng pulitiko. Nakailang eleksyon na rin akong naranasan, pero I don’t want someone to make important decisions in front of me,” she said.

This is why I never endorsed politicians. Many elections have passed, but I don’t want someone to make important decisions in front of me.)
While the “Royal Blood” star admitted that she and Verzosa are not planning to get married yet, she seemingly hinted that she considers her boyfriend as “the one.”
“We’re not planning [to tie the knot yet]. But we’re playing with the idea. It was never naman my dream or a requirement, but I would if God puts that in my life and if it’s for me. If I didn’t want him to be the one, then what am I doing dating him,” she said.
Ramos confirmed her relationship with the partylist representative at the GMA Gala Night in July 2022. Speculations about their breakup surfaced in December of the same year, although neither of them confirmed the rumors at the time. EDV
