Blackpink’s Jennie said sorry to her fans after leaving mid-way through the girl group’s concert in Melbourne, Australia last June 11, due to her “deteriorating condition.”
Jennie caught the attention of fans during the second night of Blackpink’s “Born Pink” show in Melbourne, as she left mid-performance and didn’t return for the rest of the concert, according to Korean entertainment platform Soompi. The report also noted that she was absent during the soundcheck on the same day.
Following her sudden departure from the stage, YG Entertainment confirmed in a statement that the “Solo” singer was unable to perform during the entirety of the concert due to health concerns.
“Jennie expressed her strong determination to carry on with the performance until the end. However, following medical advice on site, we immediately took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability,” YG said. “Jennie has conveyed her regrets for not being able to stay with the fans until the end, and assures that she will recover as soon as possible.”
Days after the concert, Jennie took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday night, June 13, to apologize to her fans, saying she’s doing her best to recover.
“Dear Melbourne Blinks, I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to finish the show on Sunday. I’m doing my best to recover at the moment,” she said.
The Blackpink member nonetheless thanked her fans who attended the group’s concert in Melbourne.
“Your understanding and support means the world to me. Thank you to everyone who came out to our Melbourne show. Love you guys,” she added.
Jennie debuted as the main rapper and lead vocalist of Blackpink in August 2016. She made her debut as a solo artist in November 2018, then started her acting career in the series “The Idol.” EDV
