Avid “Voltes V” fan Michael V. has joined the cast of “Voltes V: Legacy” as the voice of Octo-1, an octopus robot developed by Little Jon Armstrong (Raphael Landicho).

The actor-comedian’s character was revealed on the June 12 episode of the show, where Little Jon introduced the robot to Steve Armstrong (Miguel Tanfelix) and Jamie Robinson (Ysabel Ortega).

As soon as Little Jon lifted the cloth to reveal Octo-1, the robot immediately came to life and said, “Ohayo, konnichiwa (Good morning, hello)” to Steve and Jamie. The robot can also be lifted with one hand, and fly of its own accord.

While Octo-1 didn’t exist in the original Japanese anime, the character is a seeming adaptation of Takko-1, a flying octopus robot who is considered as the sixth member of the Voltes V team.

“Voltes V: Legacy,” which is described as a “100% Filipino made” series by filmmaker Mark Reyes, stars Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Raphael Landicho, Matt Lozano, and Radson Flores. EDV
