South Korean musical actress Park Soo-ryun passed away after accidentally falling down the stairs while returning home from work. She was 29 years old.

Park’s death was confirmed by her mother in an official statement to Korean media outlet MBC News on Tuesday, June 13. The actress was reportedly rushed to the hospital after her fall, but was declared brain dead.

“Only her brain is unconscious, and her heart is still beating,” her mother said, according to a Soompi translation.

Following Park’s passing, the actress’ family then stated that they’re planning to donate her organs to help those who are in need.

“There must be someone who desperately needs [organs]. As her mother and father, we will be able to live comfortably [with the thought that her heart] has gone to someone and is beating,” their statement read.

The actress’ funeral home is located at Suwon Hospital of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center in Suwon, South Korea. Her procession will be held on the same day.

Park appeared in the K-drama “Snowdrop” starring Blackpink’s Jisoo and Jung Hae-in, and starred in musicals including “Siddhartha,” “Finding Kim Jong-wook,” “Passing Through Love,” and “The Day we Loved.” JMS
