With the departure of Tito and Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, and other mainstays of “Eat Bulaga,” the new noontime show introduced its new hosts, led by Paolo Contis and the Legaspi twins, Cassy and Mavy.

Also leading the pack of new hosts are comedians Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, and Alexa Miro, rumored girlfriend of presidential son Sandro Marcos.

The show opened with a lively dance number from Miro, after which Cassy and Mavy took the stage with another dance routine.

Contis then made his way out from the audience and proceeded to deliver his rendition of Ne-Yo’s “So Sick,” while behind him, people were waving their skinny balloons.

In one of his spiels, Contis said that they are not onstage to replace TVJ and that they do not know for how long they will be on the show. They just want to bring the viewers and the audience happiness in their own way.

The show also introduced new game segments to entice live and TV audiences. In one of the segments, Sumaya told participants to use the hashtag “Eat Bulaga Na.”

On May 31, or just six days ago, TVJ announced that they are leaving the show after they were ordered by TAPE Inc., Eat Bulaga’s production company to no longer air its shows live. Subsequently, their co-hosts also tendered their resignation from TAPE.

Earlier, Tito Sotto said TAPE wanted to ease out the show’s top hosts to make way for the owners’ own personal and political agenda. He also bared that they have been in talks with the management of TV5 and Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, who has his own production outfit, to carry their new program.

TVJ insists that they own the rights to use the program name “Eat Bulaga” as they were the ones who created and conceptualized it, from its segments to title of the show, to its theme song.
