MANILA, Philippines—Patricia Javier’s son Robert Douglas Walcher IV has taken after the actress, although not in the field of show business but in pageantry. The former screen siren was also crowned Noble Queen of the Universe in 2019.

The 16-year-old student was proclaimed 2023 Mister Teen International in ceremonies held in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 1. Javier was also on hand to officially crown his eldest son with Dr. Rob Walcher, a chiropractor.

The young Walcher, who represented Manila in the competition, also took home several special awards during the program—Mister Charming, Best Smile, Mister Teen Sash Factor and People’s Choice.

The 2023 Mister Teen International competition was originally assigned to 2022 Mister International Philippines fourth runner-up Andre Cue just after the staging of the national pageant. But he was later awarded the Caballero Universal Filipinas title, which sent him to Venezuela for the 2022 Caballero Universal contest where he finished in the Top 10 and received the Best Body award.

Just last month, the Mister International Philippines organization announced that it had appointed Walcher to be the country’s new representative to the Mister Teen International contest, effectively taking away the responsibility from Cue.

The national contest is currently conducting its second edition, so a new delegate from the Philippines had to be sent to the 2023 Mister Teen International contest before the 2023 Mister International Philippines pageant’s culmination.

The Bangkok competition lumped four contests in one pageant. Aside from the Mister Teen International, the organization also conducted its selection for the Miss Teen International, Mister Pre-teen International and Miss Pre-teen International. A total of 14 delegates competed in the four categories.

A pair of Filipino contenders bagged both the Mister Teen International and Miss Teen International titles in the 2022 edition, also held in Bangkok—Vaugn Justice Zabala from Tacloban City and Carissa Neuel Finn Pono from Ormoc City.

Before she became Miss Eco International in 2022, Kathleen Paton also captured the Miss Teen International crown in 2017.  ra
