Julie Anne San Jose was one excited fangirl when she expressed her excitement over the idea of performing with singer-actress Sarah Geronimo, saying that it would be an “honor.”
During an interview with Boy Abunda on the May 24 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” San Jose couldn’t help but show her admiration for the “Tala” hitmaker, when she was asked about the possibility of singing alongside the latter.
“Oh my God, na-pressure ako,” she said, while laughing. “Unang-una, hindi ako lalaban because there is only one Sarah Geronimo. There can only be one Sarah Geronimo.”
(Oh my God, I feel pressured. First of all, I’m not going to go against her because there is only one Sarah Geronimo. There can only be one Sarah Geronimo.)
The “Maria Clara at Ibarra” star also stressed that performing a duet with Geronimo would be an honor as she’s one of the former’s influences in music.
“It would be an honor, of course, na maka-duet si Sarah [Geronimo],” she said. (It would be an honor, of course, to have a duet with Sarah Geronimo.)
When prodded about the idea of having a back-to-back concert with Geronimo, San Jose stressed that she’s a fan of the singer, and that she would definitely prepare if the opportunity arose.
“More of like maghahanda? Yes, of course. Definitely. She’s one of the people I really look up to. Isa siya sa mga naging influences ko sa music,” she said. (More of preparation? Yes, of course. Definitely. She’s one of the people I really look up to. She’s one of the people who became my influence in music.)
“Naging choir po ako doon sa isang church namin sa Mindanao Avenue, and then malapit po si Ms. Sarah doon. Nakita ko po siyang nag-perform sa church kasi Christmas po ‘yun. Wala lang, I’m just fangirling. Nag-fangirl talaga ako. It would be such an honor. I love her,” she continued.
(I became a choir member at a church in Mindanao Avenue, and Ms. Sarah was near there. I saw her perform at the church because it was Christmas. Nothing, I’m just fangirling. I really fangirled a lot. It would be such an honor. I love her.)
