Fashion blogger Laureen Uy is elated as she announced her engagement to her longtime non-showbiz boyfriend, entrepreneur Miggy Cruz, after six years of dating.
Uy confirmed her engagement through a shared Wes Anderson-inspired Instagram Reel, which took place at Joshua Tree National Park in California in the U.S. last Wednesday, May 17.
As seen on the video, the couple took a short trip to Joshua Tree, where the desert flora, undulating topography and beautiful sunset bore witness to the proposal.
“‘Let’s shoot a Wes Anderson reel.’ Little did I know this was really the plan. AAAAAAAHHHHH!!! I said yes,” Uy said in the caption of her post.
The content creator shared a closer look at her engagement ring in a separate Instagram post, where its princess-cut diamond was seen more prominently.
“He put a ring on it [ring emoji], [I love you so much] @miggycruz,” she wrote.
Several celebrities and content creators including Ria Atayde, Ayn Bernos, Catriona Gray, Anne Curtis, Isabelle Daza, Bianca Gonzales, Janine Gutierrez, Chie Filomeno, Rica Peralejo and Laureen’s own sister, stylist Liz Uy, congratulated the couple on their engagement, as seen in the comments of Uy’s post.

Uy and Cruz have been in a relationship since 2017, where the latter spoke about being a supportive “blogger jowa” during an exclusive interview with Lifestyle Inquirer in February 2019.
“Our girlfriends really want to have the best photo possible. Like you’re not going to get in one take. You show them (the photo and) if they’re not happy you have to take it again. It’s like a circle of life. But honestly, for us, it’s easy because number one, thank God our girlfriends plan ahead. They know their outfits, they know their look, they know what kind of area they’re looking for. So for us we’re just following them around with all their stuff,” he said. EDV
