Celebrities Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali recently extended their stay in Paris after shooting scenes for their GMA 7 series, “The Write One.” The real-life couple shared photos on their socials enjoying the sights and flavors of France, with Ruru posing with an overloaded ice cream cone. An earlier post shows him with eyes closed holding a bowl of ice cream, the spoon already in his mouth.
Food might be his love language, but Ruru’s favorite thing is his new motorcycle, a Z900RS Kawasaki Cafe Racer Bike. He admitted that he hasn’t had opportunities to really use the motorcycle, but he likes seeing it parked at home.
“The nice thing about this particular unit is that you can drive in on the track or on the streets, plus it looks very classic. I really prefer old-school design. This is actually my third motorbike, but because it’s new, I really love it right now,” Ruru said.
His first bike was also a Kawasaki, the W800, but he said it wasn’t as “smart” as his new one. “Ito kasi parang may mga traction control na, you can use it sa track. Iba ‘yung power niya. Kaya din siguro ako nag-decide na kumuha ng bagong motor because of that.”
Ruru said he was drawn to his new black and blue motorbike because of its “manly” good looks. “‘Yung dating pa lang niya sa akin na parang kaya ka niyang ipaglaban sa lahat ng bagay. Somehow, parang nako-connect ko rin siya sa sarili ko na kapag nag-alaga ako, talagang aalagaan kita habangbuhay.”
Growing up, Ruru dreamed of owning a big bike because that’s what he saw on-screen being driven by action stars. He also wanted to be an action star. “When I became an actor, a motorbike was one of the things I really set aside money for. Pinag-ipunan ko talaga. My dad also wanted a big bike of his own, so I’m happy that I can buy motorbikes for me and my dad.”
More delicate
Ruru wants to share his love for motorbikes with Bianca and said he wants to enroll her in bike school.
Right now, however, Bianca’s tastes are more delicate, less rough and tumble. Her favorite thing? A glass box holding a preserved red rose.
“It’s special to me because it symbolizes so much in my life. For some reason, every time I’m going through something, it makes me realize things. If I were an object, then that would be me,” Bianca said.
The gift from Ruru sometimes travels with her—“It’s that powerful for me”—but it’s usually kept on a shelf in her bedroom where she can gaze at it from time to time.
The two Sparkle stars headline “The Write One,” the first collaboration between GMA Network and video streaming service Viu.
