Vice Ganda gifted his niece Camille with nose plastic surgery and chin enhancement after the latter said she wanted to overcome her insecurities and admitted that she got hurt when people pointed out that she had an “ugly” nose.

Vice Ganda and Camille had a conversation about this over a meal together with the comedian’s friends, as seen in a vlog on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, May 17.

“Lahat naman tayo may (We all have) insecurities—that’s normal. And I want to ease those insecurities po, especially with my nose and my chin,” Camille said.

“With regards to being pango [having rounded nose], nainstill na rin sa akin na being pango (it was instilled in me that it) is something you should love and you should learn to love eventually. But for me, I think because of the openness that we have now in our society, mas gusto ko pong ma-enhance ‘yung sarili ko (I want to enhance myself),” she continued.

Vice Ganda, for his part, stressed that there is nothing wrong with wanting to enhance one’s physical appearance as long as they do it for themselves and not for other people. He also pointed out that everyone has their own ways to “cope” with their insecurities.

Camille then noted how she really wanted to undergo enhancements, saying, “It will eventually boost my confidence kapag fully healed na siya, and one thing I learned growing up is kailangan ko ng happiness ko. That will make me happy and satisfied.”

(It will eventually boost my confidence once it is fully healed, and one thing I learned growing up is that I need happiness. That will make me happy and satisfied.)

“Siguro malaking factor din ‘yung social media na—I cannot deny the fact na nahu-hurt ako minsan ‘pag sinasabihan ako na, ‘Ang panget naman ng ilong mo. Ba’t hindi ka magpagawa?’ It hurts sometimes,” she admitted.

(Maybe social media is also a contributing factor—I cannot deny the fact that I get hurt sometimes when people tell me, “Your nose is ugly. Why don’t you have a nose job?)

Vice Ganda then told Camille that he would “sponsor” her cosmetic enhancements, which brought her to shout for joy.

“Sa buhay, ang dami nating issues. ‘Yung mga issues na mabilis natin mare-resolve, i-resolve na natin para makapagfocus tayo ng energy natin sa mas mahahalagang issue,” Vice Ganda said, adding that they are blessed to be capable to resolve problems that involves money.

(In life, we have a lot of issues. If we [have the means to] resolve an issue, then let’s resolve it immediately so that we can focus on more important matters.)

“‘Yun ang mahirap i-solve, ‘yung mga issues na hindi naso-solusyonan ng pera. Mas kailangan no’n ng energy natin,” he added. (Issues that cannot be resolved with money are the hardest. It requires more of our energy.)

Camille already had her cosmetic surgeries done and they will be shown in the comedian’s upcoming vlog.  /ra
