For actor Xian Lim, there’s nothing more believable than doing things the right way as faking it ‘til you make it is something that can be harmful in the long run.

In a video that he posted on his Instagram page, Lim said he has strong opposition to the expression “Fake it ‘til you make it,” as this mindset may be harmful in the long run.

“They say, ‘Fake it ‘til you make it.’ We say, ‘Face it ‘til you ace it,’” he said. “Instead of faking it, be the change you want to see.”

In another Instagram post, Lim shared a short video of his ice skating prowess with his “Hearts On Ice” leading lady Ashley Ortega which he said encapsulates the hard work they did in the scene.

“Sharing with you all the behind-the-scene footage of this sequence in our show. This is my favorite episode in this series. Mainly because I feel that it encapsulates the hard work an artist must put in for a scene like this to be pulled off,” he said about the video.

In this scene, the two actors were dancing on ice, while a play of emotions is evident on their faces.

Admitting that he is far from being a perfect ice skater, Lim said that he really poured hard work in that scene and that’s what matters.

“I may not be the best out there but I always want to be the hardest working person in the room whatever the circumstances may be. I’m just really happy and proud of this particular scene and episode,” he said.

“It’s funny, light, inspiring and full of hope… and I’m not just referring to the story unfolding, but in our lives as well where we always have to work hard to reach a certain level of fulfillment and joy,” he added, noting that life is not a walk in the park as “one must go through pain and suffering, one must fall in order to get back up.” EDV
