Miss Philippines Lumiere International World pageant to crown three winners on June 10
MANILA, Philippines—The Miss Philippines Lumiere International World pageant will proclaim three winners at the culmination of its coronation program in June, with all three queens earning the right to represent the country in various global competitions this year and in 2024.
Reigning Mrs. Asia Pacific All Nations Shin Alba-Lopez conducted the second round of screening for applicants of the national pageant on April 22 at the Glass Meeting Room of Okada Manila in Parañaque City. The successful applicants from the first auditions were also called back for the swimsuit photoshoot at the poolside together with those who qualified in the more recent auditions.
Lopez confirmed with the Inquirer that the winners who will be crowned in the finals will represent the Philippines in the Miss Lumiere International World, Miss Tourism Worldwide and Miss Global Universe pageants. The international pageants are organized by Singapore-based Lumiere International Pageantry, which is also mounting the Philippine national competition this year.
The organization’s head, Justina Quek, flew to Manila last month to oversee the auditions not only for the Miss Philippines Lumiere International World contest, but also the Mrs. Philippines Asia Pacific competition. She is also conducting the national competition for married women, single mothers, and divorced or widowed women this year.
In an exclusive interview with the Inquirer conducted on March 17 at the Goryeo Restaurant of Okada Manila, Quek said, “We really need candidates with the highest standards. If you are going to represent the Philippines in the future, you really need queens like [Mrs. Asia Pacific Global Avon Morales] with a high standard. It is one thing, but the personality is also important.”

The 2023 Miss Philippines Lumiere International World pageant will hold its coronation program at the Golden Ballroom of Okada Manila on June 10, with the 2023 Mrs. Philippines Asia Pacific competition taking place on the same day. /ra
