Michelle, daughter of supermodel and Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez and former actor Derek Dee, then showed herself lying in a hospital bed with the caption “brb” (be right back), via her Instagram Stories.
“On my 28th birthday, the Universe has shown me the importance of pacing myself and focusing on my true priorities,” Michelle wrote in a separate post. “I’ll keep moving forward with self-care, pursuing my passions, and appreciating life’s precious moments.”
“Thank you for all your well wishes and greetings!” she added.
While she did not immediately state the reason for her surgery, Michelle shared a report from Village Pipol magazine, which says that the beauty queen was rushed to the hospital due to “hemorrhage and bleeding.”
Michelle received well-wishes, birthday greetings as well as cheers for the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines coronation from fans and fellow celebrities.
