South Korean music label YG Entertainment has denied the dating rumors between Blackpink’s Rosé and award-winning actor Kang Dong-won, days after they were spotted at a social gathering.
The music agency dispelled the allegations between Rosé and Dong-won’s supposed romance in an official statement via Korean media outlet SpoTV News on Monday night, April 17, stating that it is “not true.”
“We previously said that we are unable to check our artists’ private matters, especially regarding Rosé, but we are making a statement again as rumors have continued to recklessly swirl. Rosé’s dating rumor that has been reported today is not true,” YG said, according to a translation by news platform Korea JoongAng Daily.
Dating allegations between the Korean stars began to swirl earlier this week after they were spotted at a social gathering, as seen in a photo shared by Burberry’s former creative head Riccardo Tisci. The photo has since been deleted, as of this writing.
The “On The Ground” hitmaker’s label also said that it will take legal action against those who are spreading rumors about her alleged drug-use last April 13, to which was firmly denied by the label.
“We are taking legal action against acts that violate the human rights of and defame our agency artist. We are currently monitoring those who created and spread the rumors, and will take strong legal action in the future without any leniency or settlement,” YG said in a separate statement.
Rosé recently performed with bandmates Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa at the Coachella music festival in Indio, California in the U.S. on April 16 (Manila time).
The Blackpink member was announced as a member of the world-famous South Korean quartet in August 2016, and made her debut as a solo artist in March 2021 with her first mini-album “R.”
On the other hand, Dong-won is best known for his leading roles in the films “Peninsula,” “Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned,” and “The Priests,” among others. EDV
