Blackpink — consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa — proved they are a force to be reckoned with in the music scene as they became the first Korean act to headline the Coachella music festival on April 16 (Manila time).

The girl group set the festival’s stage on fire in a nearly 90-minute set as they performed their hit songs including “Pink Venom,” “Kill This Love,” “How You Like That,” “Pretty Savage,” “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” “Whistle,” and “Typa Girl,” among many others.

Sprinkled with their signature bombastic flair, the quartet noticeably performed unfiltered versions of their hit songs, while main rapper and lead vocalist Jennie asked the crowd to “f***ing scream.”

The 90-minute set also featured Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa treating the audiences to energetic performances of their respective solo music.

Jennie kicked off the solo stages with the sensual unreleased song, “You & Me,” which was also performed during their “Born Pink” world tour.

Jisoo, who recently made her debut as a soloist, was the second to perform with the maximalist number “Flower.”

The third member who took the stage was main vocalist Rosé as she treated fans to powerful performances of “On The Ground” and “Gone.”

Lisa was the final member to show her star power as a soloist with the bombastic “Money,” where she notably changed some of the lyrics to its chorus.

The girl group was announced as one of the festival’s headline acts earlier this year, alongside Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean. The quartet previously performed in the festival in 2019.

In an exclusive interview with U.S.-based music magazine Billboard, Blackpink’s Rosé admitted that being a headlining act “feels absolutely unreal.”

“I think performing for Coachella in 2019 was a moment that really woke us up as Blackpink—to be motivated, to dream on and dream big. But we never expected anything as big as being the headliner of a festival we’ve all grown up admiring and hoping someday we could find ourselves in the crowd of,” she was quoted as saying. EDV
