Billy Crawford and KC Montero have confirmed that the cast of the TV5’s “Tropang LOL” hosts have concluded filming its final episode, as they looked back at some of their favorite memories with the late-morning show.
Crawford recalled some of his favorite moments with the show’s cast on his Instagram account on Sunday, April 16, as he revealed that it gave “so many opportunities” to those who lost their jobs at a “vulnerable time.”
“Super fun while it lasted! This show gave so many opportunities to people who had lost their jobs at a vulnerable time. 2.5 years ain’t that bad, especially during the pandemic season and a time of uncertainty in our industry,” he said in the caption.
The musician-host then thanked Tropang LOL’s head producer, Bacolod City mayor Albee Benitez, as well as his fellow cast members and production staff who “worked so hard” in bringing the show to life.
“[Albee Benitez,] thank you for giving us this venue to work for our families while having fun and being free, and also opening doors for others. I will miss the atmosphere of this show because it was so genuinely light, friendly, uplifting for everyone, and each person on the team worked so hard. No drama, no divas, no pulling anyone down. Walang naka-angat, at walang nagmamaliit.” he added.
The “Bright Lights” singer also revealed that “lots of tears” were shed during the last day of taping, as he hoped that the late-morning show would come back at a “new home.”
“I just pray that, one day, God will be able to give us a new home to continue what we have started. But Father, Your will be done in Jesus’s name. No matter what happens, the relationship built on this show will be cherished forever. Lots of tears on the last day of taping, but also lots of freaking laughter cause that’s just who we are,” he said.
The post of the former “It’s Showtime” host caught the attention of his castmates in the comments, including Montero and Alex Gonzaga.
Gonzaga said, “Daddy billzzz u rockz poh!”
Montero wrote, “What?? Wala na? That’s why no one is here!! Nasa studio ako ngayon kasi… [I’m kidding!] It was definitely an amazing experience and even more being able to work with you. Let’s do it again!”
The radio DJ expressed his love for the cast and crew of “Tropang LOL” on Instagram Stories, as he revealed that being part of the show’s cast is one of the “highlights” of his career.
“All good things must come to an end. Being part of this show has been one of the highlights of my career. Thank you, @tropanglol,” he said. “Until we meet again soon.”
The TV5 show will reportedly air its final episode on April 29 after almost three years on air, according to showbiz columnist-talent manager Ogie Diaz on his March 2023 vlog. It will be replaced by the “Face 2 Face,” which will be returning on air with Karla Estrada as host.
Meanwhile, the social media platforms of “Tropang LOL” have yet to share any content pertaining to their final episode, as of this writing.
The cast of “Tropang LOL,” formerly known as “Lunch Out Loud,” is composed of Crawford, Montero, and Gonzaga, as well as comedians Bayani Agbayani and Wacky Kiray, and actor Matteo Guidicelli, among others. The show aired its first episode in October 2020. EDV
