Rocco Nacino named honorary member of Philippine Navy’s NAVSOCOM
Rocco Nacino has been granted a status as an honorary member of the Philippine Navy’s Naval Special Operations Command (NAVSOCOM) unit, four years after becoming a reservist of the AFP’s naval warfare branch.
The Kapuso actor took to his personal Instagram page on Tuesday, April 4, to thank the NAVSOCOM unit for the “humbling lessons” through the years, as he shared a photo of himself in his navy uniform.
“2LT Enrico Raphael Q. Nacino, RN, MAN, Nurse Corp, AFPRESCOM, Navsocom Honorary Member. From ‘Descendants of the Sun’ PH, to Joining the Philippine Navy as a Reservist, to being an honorary member of our Naval Special Operations Command (Navy Seals). Thankful for the many humbling lessons I have learned throughout the years,” he wrote.

Nacino’s wife, volleyball player Melissa Gohing, expressed her love for the actor in the comments of his post, saying, “That’s my husband.”

The actor also shared his achievement with Gohing who was also present at the ceremony, as seen in a separate post, at what appeared to be a ceremony where the latter is putting on his medal.
“Receiving the Parangal sa Kapanalig ng Sandatahang Lakas Ng Pilipinas Medal and Ribbon. A huge honor today to be recognized for our efforts through the CMO activities with my unit, NRPAU. This will serve as motivation to me and my comrades to continue our efforts as reservists in serving our country,” he said in the caption.

The “First Lady” star then thanked Gohing for being the “commander in his life” as she witnessed his recent milestone.
“Thank you sa aking commander ng buhay ko, ang aking asawa, @gohingmelissa, sa pagwitness ng napaka espesyal na araw na ito. Proud to be a Navy Seal. Para sa Pilipinas, Hooyahh,” he added. The volleyball player praised Nacino for his efforts as a reservist in a separate post on her Instagram account, where she uploaded more photos of the ceremony.
“I’m always proud of you, mi amor! Congratulations on receiving the Kaparangal sa Kapanalig ng Sandatahang Lakas Ng Pilipinas Medal and Ribbon [and] for being an active Navy Seal Reservist,” she said.

Gohing also expressed her admiration for her husband who she said has always been passionate about “help[ing] other people.”
“You just don’t post about it often but you’ve been doing CMO activities with your unit, NRPAU. I always admire you for always wanting to help other people,” she wrote.
Prior to being named as a NAVSOCOM honorary member, Nacino was a Philippine Navy Reservist after graduating from the unit’s Basic Civilian Military Training in October 2019. EDV
