Anne Curtis took fans to a trip down memory lane as she showed moments from filming the 1997 fantasy adventure movie “Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis,” where she portrayed the role of Princess Dahlia.
The actress shared throwback photos of her with her film co-stars including Jason Salcedo, Janus del Prado, Junell Hernando, via her Instagram page on Wednesday, April 5.
“[Way back] when movie posters used to be painted in the streets of Manila, photos and movies were actually shot on film,” she said in the caption.
“‘Magic Kingdom’ and my role as Princess Dahlia will always have a special place in my heart. As a 12-year-old, this was definitely a core memory,” she continued.
Anne expressed her gratitude to those behind the film, including directors Peque Gallaga, Lore Reyes and production company Viva Films. She also credited director Erik Matti, with whom she will be working on an upcoming film, for being their assistant director at the time.
“I’m celebrating 25 years in the industry. Pretty insane. Passion for acting is still very much burning. Can’t wait to start again real soon—with a director who was our assistant director for [‘Magic Kingdom,’ Erik Matti],” she stated.
In the comments section, Matti looked back at the film and its “bloody fun shoot,” while Hernando revealed getting requests for a “Magic Kingdom” sequel. Anne’s sister, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, also seemed to have felt nostalgic as she recalled Anne’s role as Dahlia, who the latter’s daughter was named after.
Fans have also chimed in with their childhood memories of the fantasy film, saying how they still remember its songs.
Curtis shares her firstborn Dahlia with her husband Erwan Heussaff. The couple got married in 2017, and welcomed their daughter in 2020 while they were staying in Australia. EDV
