(We are running this guide to help you plan your summer moviegoing activity. The 1st Summer Metro Manila Film Festival runs from April 8 to 18)Written and directed by Fifth Solomon; stars Angeline Quinto, Alex Gonzaga, Aljur Abrenica, Victor Silayan, Julian Roxas, Ruby Ruiz; produced by TinCan and Black Cap Pictures
After being stood up at the altar by her ex-fiancé, Rose Ann (Gonzaga) vows to stay single forever and focus on taking care of her handicapped mom. Years later, they cross paths at the radio station where Rose Ann works as a voice talent. Will she take a gamble and give love another chance?
Rose Mae (Quinto), on the other hand, is the opposite. Dying to experience romantic relationships, she spends most of her time swiping left and right on dating apps or attending speed dating events. One day, she finds a match—only to realize that everything is too good to be true.
Despite their differences, Rose Anne and Rose Mae hit it off as friends. And in their search for contentment, they find themselves joining the Single Bells Organization, a group that promotes single awareness and self-love. And there, they learn from each other’s experiences with love.
“I was single for eight years … and people would always ask me, ‘Why are you not in a relationship? When will you be in one?’ And that personal experience was one of my inspirations,” Solomon said. “For some reason, in our society, being single seems to have a negative connotation.”
