Did you know: Farewell, my ‘Lovey’

SO IN LOVE This framed photo has a special place in the couple’s home in Parañaque.

Dolphy’s children and grandchildren who were at the hospital when he passed away managed to say their goodbyes and “I love yous” but, we imagine, none of them as impassioned as Zsa Zsa Padilla’s declarations. In a TV interview, Freddie Quizon’s son Rowell recalled hearing Zsa Zsa say to her partner, “I love you, I love you, I love you…”

In a subsequent radio report, another grandson was quoted as saying that, when Zsa Zsa saw Dolphy all suited up before he was laid out in the coffin, she whispered, “Lovey, ang pogi-pogi mo (you’re dashing)!” Which reminded us of how, once, we watched as she preened in front of Dolphy and said, “You like me, no?”
