Iza Calzado gets real on postpartum phase: ‘Hindi siya madali’
Iza Calzado opened up about her first few months into motherhood, which she considers to be the “most challenging yet fulfilling journey” she has been on so far.
The actress showed herself cradling her firstborn, Deia Amihan, while her eyes were puffy from crying, via her Instagram page on Thursday, March 30.
“This photo was taken a few days after giving birth, right after I cried so hard from a few ‘failures’ I felt I had as a new mother mixed with the deep love I was feeling for my child, the kind I have never felt for anyone before,” she said.
“It’s quite a punch, the first few days, weeks post birth. Hindi siya madali (It’s not easy),” she continued. “I am still recovering from it all but every day gets better and better.”
Calzado said she is on her ninth week postpartum and noted, “This is, by far, the most challenging yet fulfilling journey I have been on and I know it is only the beginning.”
